Need a java compiler

Recommended Posts

i think these compilers can generate native Windows code:

Symantec Visual Cafe 4.0 Expert Edition
IBM's Visual Age for Java Enterprise Edition
JGC: Java front-end for gcc

...if you create an exe it will be tied to Windows and can not be executed on other platforms (one of the things with Java, platform independence, at least they want us to believe that).
Anyway, that''s why if you now must create something that is executable you should create a .jar file, native java code...

Jar files are commonly used for JavaBeans, and has a sort of zip like compression, but can also be made into executable files...

I just want to be able to run a java program in windows without having jdk installed and also without making it an applet.

I''m going to check those compilers and the .jar file format.

Thanks
