Is there a vc++ command to get information about the current activity of the HardDisk/CDROM? I Basically need a command that will tell me if the HDD led is flashing (the hdd led on the PC case), and maybe also what drive is active, i.e. CDROM, HDD, and/or FDD.

You could try using FindFirstChangeNotification and FindNextChangeNotification (as well as FindCloseChangeNotification) with the root path of any drive. Have is so that it returns if anything happens, anytime something happens the drive is being accessed. I''m not sure how to get this to more precise, but that should be a start.
