DX9 is still in alpha, it hasn''t made it to beta yet and I wouldn''t expect to see it for quite some time. The main reason DX has been constantly being updated is due to the drastic hardware changes that have been occurring in the past few years. With companies like 3dfx and alot of other video card manu''s going out of buisness the need to update every few months will probably slow down. Due to the drastic changes that hit in Direct X 8.0 I wouldn''t even expect the first beta release of Direct X 9.0 until sometime next year. And to those who are telling you they are already recieving Direct X 9.0 betas they are full of "bull" to put it politely. Direct X 8.0 and previous beta testers will be asked to participate in the Direct X 9.0 beta even before microsoft allows anyone else to sign up for it. And as an old Direct X 8.0 beta member I haven''t heard a word on the subject as of yet. So keep your pants on it''s going to be a while.
