DirectX Blitting multiple surfaces

Hi, Im using ddutil and want to blt() multiple surfaces to a screen. E.g. Sprite and background. Only problem is, the first Blt works ok but the second one returns a fail. Since im using CreateSurfaceFromBitmap I dont have access to BltFast, mind you Im not sure if using that would fix it. The CreateS... creates the surfaces ok. Should I sack off using ddutil and write my own Bitmap to Surface loader so I can use BltFast? I guess its not right to just Blt one surface and then Blt the other straight after to the lpDD (of CDisplay type) ? Thanks in advance,
