Hi, I have a couple years of programming experience but have only begun game programming recently. Here's the deal: I created a version of BreakOut for my final project in my C# class. I used some simple custom textures in Paint and the game works great, except that my textures are solid colors and are way off. A friend who already made a few simple 2d games did some research and discovered that bitmap file resolution must match the current settings (256 color bitmap doesn't appear properly on a 32bit setting). But my video card only has two settings, 16 and 32 bit, which are not options in paint. I want to know if a Bitmap object in C# can hold more than just .bmp files, or if it can hold .png files aswell.
