LPD3DXSPRITE and Texture filtering?

Hello! I want to use LPD3DXSPRITE with min and mag filters but it does not seem to work. I set the sampler states but it does not seem to have an effect.
SetSamplerState(0,D3DSAMP_MAGFILTER,D3DTEXF_NONE);
SetSamplerState(0,D3DSAMP_MINFILTER,D3DTEXF_NONE);
SetSamplerState( 0,D3DSAMP_MIPFILTER, D3DTEXF_NONE );
What could be the problem? Thanks a lot!!!

ID3DXSprite::Begin() will automatically set the filters to D3DTEXF_LINEAR (or anisotropic, if available). If you try making those calls after Begin(), it might work then.
