3ds max materials

First of all i'd like to thank the people that helped me through my zbrush disaster. lol... I have one last hump to get over. The only think i can not figure out is how to export a material from 3dsmax. My partner is using C++ and when i export the object with texture i have to use the panda direct x and he told me to export as a .x file well it won't export the material. so does anyone have any idea on how to do that? I'm sure it's probably something easy. However i have not found out how to do it in any of the tutorials i have read. Any suggestions???????

by the use of "materials" do you mean the texture coord and reference data is not in the exported model? if you mena that the textures themselves don't export out with the model... that is because they don't, just copy all textures you applied to the model into the appropriate folder/directory.
