Is there f4tex2D() funtion in HLSL?

Hi all, There are some functions such as f4tex2D() and f4texRECT() funciton in Cg, then are there such functions in HLSL? It seems that i cannot find them in HLSL. If not, how do i simulate these functions in HLSL? Thanks in advance!

Judging by the name, "f4tex2D()" samples a texture and returns a float4.

If that's what it is, then HLSL's tex2D() does just that, returns a colour stored in a float4 given a texture co-ordinate and texture sampler.
