Question about WM_DRAWITEM and initial render.

Hello all, I have a question about WM_DRAWITEM and the initial render. Ok, so my first dialog box works great except the owner drawn button will only draw when a state changes, i.e, it is not visible until someone clicks on it. WM_DRAWITEM draws the button on a state change. This is handled. But how do you INITIALLY draw it (so it appears in the first place)? I am using Win32 GDI. Thank you for your help, Jeremy

Force an UpdateWindow or SendMessage(hwnd, WM_PAINT, ...) on it?

Also this isn't IM. 30mins to get a response is actually quite fast. Patience otherwise you just annoy people and get no replies.

30mins
It looks like it was actually 12 hours and 30 minutes, which is slower than most of the IM conversations I've experienced [smile]

(About the original question, unfortunately I have no idea.)

Thank you guys.

I think 12 hours and 30 minutes is reasonable time to wait without annoying people unless I am missing the rules of the forum or something. 30 minutes would be annoying....but I didn't wait 30 minutes.

You know it's actually useful to others if you post the solution so another topic for the same problem doesn't have to be created. Thanks.
