compute determinant with lapack

Hi, I have been trying to replace my matrix library implementation with calls to LAPACK but I have discovered there are no LAPACK routine for computing determinant. I thought about writing a little bit of code to compute the determinant from the LAPACK lu decomposition routine (dgetrf) but found that it does not return the number of interchanges needed to compute the correct sign of the determinant. Is it possible to compute the number of interchanges from the row permutation matrix P, for the case of A = P*L*U? thanks Shaobo
