Not really a game question, but I have a picture (jpg) downloaded from the web that was edited after it was taken (before it was put on the internet). When I look at the thumbnail in Explorer, the edit isn't there. But when I open up the picture with any program, there are no layers and the edit is there. Why is this? And is it possible to take it out?

As far as I know, both the main image and its thumbnail can represent entirely different things (and can even be encoded differently). By that I mean that although a thumbnail commonly contains a scaled down version of the main image, it doesn't have to. My guess then is that the thumbnail didn't get updated when the image was altered. However, once edited, the changes made to the image can't be undone (at least not solely from the contents of the file).
