Drawing a cylinder using Directx 8 and VB6

I want to draw a cylinder at origin. I know the radius and height of the cylinder. Is there any function in directx to draw the cylinder directly or should I create the triangles for the cylinder for rendering the cylinder?

In DX9, you can use the D3DXCreateCylinder function. It's likely to be present in DX8 as well.

On that note, why on earth are you using technology that was released a decade ago and obsoleted almost 4 years ago? There's no reason whatsoever to use either VB6 or DX8 in this day and age.

Thanks for the information. I wish there was no reason. But i guess the clients think they gotta reason to use vb6 & DX8. I couldnt find out if D3DXCreateCylinder is available in DX8.
