floating camera

Somebody left this message at my homepage message board, I wasn't exactly sure what they were asking, maybe one of you can help.

I'm trying to build a 3dWorld, i know the basics but I'm having a few
problems: I have a character (an object) that i want to move around and when he
enters a wall, i want the camera to rotate (with him), making the wall his new
goundPlane (rotating the world).. and the camera is of course placed behind him "as
usual".. Any hits / tips on this ?

Uhm. That sounds...very wierd...but...

Just rotate the camera about z by the same angle as the wall makes with the present floor and track the new x until you're in line with the player...
