Customized rendering of an indexed mesh

Hi, I have a indexed mesh. The vertices in the mesh are shared by more than one triangles forming the faces of the mesh. I want to apply transformation matrices on a face or a group of triangles. Do you know of a way to do so without duplication of the vertices present in the mesh ? Thank you for reading, Amit

I think that's not possible without ANY duplicating.
