Hello. I have written complete 3d engine, which I use for my own, home projects. It is completely based on dx9, supports sound, audio and video streams, collisions, etc. But now I want to start porting this engine to dx10. I want to do this in two steps. First, I want to remove all fixed pipe depenedencies from my existing engine. So if somebody can give me complete list of d3d9 (and d3dx9) functions, that even in minimal way rely on fixed pipe it woluld by great! Thanks for any sugestions!

SetFVF(). That's it. The fixed function pipeline just means uses FVF codes rather than veretx shaders.

There are also other FVF-related APIs that you don't want to be using:

SetMaterial()SetLight()SetTransform()SetTexture()Render States---------------------  D3DRS_LIGHTING  D3DRS_AMBIENT  D3DRS_FOG*  (unless you are using ps 1.x - ps 2.0)  D3DRS_SPECULARENABLE

I probably missed some things, but hopefully this is a more comprehensive list.

You also won't want to be calling any SetTextureStageState calls. (except for one for projective texturing under PS1.x but we'll just ignore that [smile]).

Thanks for all the points! Maybe something else can be added?
