3d vertices

what does a triangle strip look like when manually typed into your code? i know there's an x, y, and z coordinates, but what values connect the triangles to other triangles? I use DirectX 9.0c (-I think-) and C plus plus (the preview wont show the +plus sign) also... When does DirectX 10 come out?

DirectX 10 is Vista only (it's been out for as long as Vista).

In a triangle strip the first 3 vertices are the first triangle and every vertex after that uses the last two vertices.

For example if you had a triangle strip with 3 triangles made out of 5 vertices it would be:


Vertices
Triangle 1: 1, 2, 3
Triangle 2: 2, 3, 4
Triangle 3: 3, 4, 5


Basically the order the vertices are in determines how they connect.
