Hello, I'm very interested in writing an XmlFormatter class, with pretty much the same functionality as BinaryFormatter, but as you guessed, using Xml instead of Binary files. I do know about XmlSerializer, but it seems it can only serialize public fields and properties. BinaryFormatter can serialize private data as well, and is used in a different way, which I find alot better. Basicly, I want to be able to serialize any [Serializeable()] class to an XML document and back again. Is this already possible, and if so how, and if not, what's the easiest way to implent it? [Edit] 5 mins later I found this: http://www.codeproject.com/soap/XMLFormatter.asp Works like a charm, with ALMOST the same syntax (the only difference is that you have to pass a type parameter, which I can live with), I'll leave this topic alone as I suspect it might be of some use to other people as well.
