Using .X Files Without DirectX

I'm working on an open-source PSP application, and I have written a simple .X loader that works for loading geometry and almost full texture support. The files can't be binary though. There are some problems with my texturing, and I'm not sure where to go when I get to the animation aspect. I've done a few searches here and found a great tutorial, but the source code link is broken, and the tutorial itself doesn't give any source code. Are there any good tutorials or examples out there that show how to make an .X loader from scratch? It's much appreciated! ;)

Thanks! I saw this tutorial before, and it explains good amounts, but it doesn't give the source code, or explain the source code. Do you know any where I can get .x loader code so I can figure out how material lists and animations work?
