Is there an easy way to simplify a mesh in Xna? I used to call D3DXSimplifyMesh or Mesh.Simplify in DX/MDX. If it doesn't exist, does anyone know how they're implemented? I've glanced at a few mesh simplification papers but I don't know which methods D3DX uses. I guess it really isn't important, but I was curious.

I"m not sure about the mesh simplification, but the progressive meshes seem to use Hoppe's approach. Since simplification is part of the progressive mesh functionality, I'd guess that's also built on Hoppe's work.
