I am new to OpenGL and I am getting some compatibility issues with a game I am working on. It runs very slowly and the rendering doesn't look right with ATI cards and some NVidia cards on Windows Vista. After many hours of troubleshooting I found out that the problem with one of the ATI cards wasn't with my code but with the video card's drivers. I had to install older drivers to get OpenGL to work correctly (it was falling back on the Miscrosoft Generic v 1.1 driver when my game requires at least 1.5). - Is it something that is common on PCs? - Is there a list of cards/drivers OpenGL compatibility? - How do you guys deal with that problem?
