Can anyone recommend a tabbed text editor?
I'm looking for a free tabbed text editor, so far all the ones I have found are loaded with programming, html 'features', but Im looking for something more light weighted.
Or if someone has actually written one, preferably in c#, that would be great!
thx
I like SciTE.
There's a single file version of it available here.
It's nice to only have to carry around a single executable and a configuration file to comfortably edit files anywhere. :)

I use ConTEXT as a notepad replacement. It is indeed a bit programmer-centric (which for me is a good thing), but it's reasonably lightweight and does support tabs.
I'm fond of Crimson Editor, it's pretty basic and lightweight and it's got syntax highlighting for lots of languages (and a system to add your own files for highlighting a language that isn't supported).
Notepad++ is probably as light as you're going to get.
It is tabbed, does syntax highlighting for a lot of languages and is real simple to use. Very fast too.

I second that.

I hate to hijack the thread but I have a question. Has anyone figured out how to make Notepad++ use one default font for everything. I dislike reading code comments (or anything) in Comic Sans.
I recommend EditPlus. Extremely lightweight and a mere hours after I reported a bug, they contacted me wanting more information. After I got the information back to them, within two hours they responded back and said it would be fixed on the next update, which are released every few weeks.
I couldn't be happier with it :)
It's not tabbed, but it has buttons at the bottom which mimics tab behavior.
