DirectForms Designer 2005 Beta 2 Now Available!!!

Recommended Posts

DirectForms Designer 2005 Beta 2 is now available at: Downloads Area The new release has fixed a large amount of initial bugs and added some help to the help file. The current help file uses a small font which we will fix in the next help file update. We are currently focusing our efforts on the help files so that complete documentation will be available soon. This should give the user the ability to create custom classes and such. It will describe how the internal system functions so that users can have intuition when creating systems with it. The trial is free and gives full DirectForms functionality on the computer that it is installed on. Please download a copy and let us(support) know what you think. Our goal is to work with each developer and cater to their needs while they create their projects so that they can have greater control over how DirectForms works in their game. We will build custom controls upon request and of course develop more built in controls/functionality as time goes on. The Tech Demo now uses DirectForms 2.0 for it's core. It runs in windowed mode so keep in mind that the frame rate is a bit limited by the system. We will be adding sample projects to the download within the next day or so. Some peformance improvements are planned after the help file update is finished. These improvement will be mild as the entire DirectForms 2.0 is in fact a performance improvement based release. CPU utilization is near to nothing and framerate is high to max in full screen modes. This is attributed to the new single draw call and process notification architecture. We are also open to other payment methods than those stated. Thank You, Devin Wintch [edit] Added sample solutions (c# type) to the download. One sample is a sample style library for making your own skins. The other is the actual Tech Demo which you can play around with and make full screen at whatever resolution you desire. The full-screen render loop show's it's real potential for how little it will impact your game engine's performance and, perhaps if your current ui is a bit slow, may very well speed things up.
