opengl glloadmatrixf()

Hi all, I'm having trouble understanding what glloadmatrixf(const GLfloat *m) does. I've looked at the opengl reference manual but I still don't understand. Can someone please explain it to me, but dumbed down a little?

It replaces the current matrix. Think of it as glLoadIdentity(), only you are able to specify the matrix you load. What is the current matrix? That depends on what your last call to glMatrixMode() was. If you're still having trouble understanding, then I suggest you implement the NEHE tutorials while slowly reading the red book from the beginning again.
