Why when I try to start Direct X in fullscreen mode and then diactivate the program by pressing then windows logo on the keyboard, When I try to reopen the program nothing is rendered? Here is the code I use for fullscreen mode... D3DPRESENT_PARAMETERS d3dpp; ZeroMemory(&d3dpp,sizeof(d3dpp)); d3dpp.Windowed = false; d3dpp.SwapEffect = D3DSWAPEFFECT_DISCARD; d3dpp.BackBufferFormat = D3DFMT_X8R8G8B8; d3dpp.BackBufferCount = 1; d3dpp.BackBufferWidth = 800; d3dpp.BackBufferHeight = 600; d3dpp.hDeviceWindow = hWnd; Do I have to add some code to it?

Your device may have become lost and your code should cater for when it does at any stage. Take a look at the DirectX SDK documentation under lost devices, for your convenience I have given you a link.
Lost Devices Direct3D 9

I hope this helps.
Take care.

You should probably have something that ends the program and cleans up everything on a keypress rather than exiting using the windows key.

Send a WM_DESTROY message when the escape key is pressed or something along those lines.
