Green Programer?

Okay, I have to put this in the beginner section cause I probaly should know this. On cragslist job postings, i see at the end GREEN PROGRAMMERS NEED NOT APPLY in caps? what's a green programmer? racism? ha i laugh

Well, obviously he doesn't want the red and blue ones :)

It's an old saying, eg. /being green behind the ears/ means to be a beginner at something. Once famous western author Karl May (the guy who invented Winnetou) used it quite often and labelled any newcomers to the west as "greenhorns".

So in short, green programmers == newbie programmers!

It could also mean they don't want enviro friendly programmers. Maybe the company has huge supercomputers needing 100's of kWh of electricity which would upset the "green" programmer [lol][lol][lol]

You should apply for the job, and go to the interview in full green body paint, a green shirt, and a cheesy 'irish' hat.

It would be funny.
