beginning openGL question

hi, read through NEHE and some unanswered stuff need to know ok i have the ability to read a file and record the x, y, z co-ordinates of the scene (which should load from the file) but know how do i do the facets and link them together.. any help most appreciated thank you

I think you should actually implement the nehe tutorials (without copy-pasting). They actually have the answer to everything in your question.

Otherwise, read your way through the openGL red book: http://fly.cc.fer.hr/~unreal/theredbook/.

I believe that you are trying to get into the loading of files before you can even draw a triangle to the screen. If you don't know how to draw "hardcoded" objects you're not going to understand how to load and display a model.
