how to compile .fx file

I use function D3DXCompileShaderFromFile to complile shadowvolume.fx as code here (visual c++ 2007 ,directx 9.0c) ID3DXEffect* Effect = 0; ID3DXBuffer* errorBuffer = 0; HRESULT hr; hr = D3DXCreateEffectFromFile( d3ddev, // associated device L"ShadowVolume.fx", // source filename NULL, // no preprocessor definitions NULL, // no ID3DXInclude interface NULL, // compile flags 0, // don't share parameters &Effect, // return result NULL); // return error strings but it failed i like to get effect for render shadowvolume this problem is annoy me very mush because I'm not keen on win32 help me plea

Try using D3DXCreateEffectFromFile(). You can provided a LPD3DXBUFFER that will hold all the compile errors.
