Hello guys and gals,
I know there is a bit of an overlap with these forums, but just wanted to post about a relatively new free game development community site set up by game industry professionals, that is geared towards amateur/indie development, and helping fledglings break into the game industry.
http://www.cgempire.com
The site's of quite a modest size at the moment (hence this post :)), but is growing all the time and has a quite lovely little community of friendly people. There's competitions, tutorials and plenty of other things, such as "for fun" activities such as coding, pixel art and creative writing competitions.
The site is also on the look out for professional game developers skilled in specific areas to help provide any support for newbie developers, as "Resident Experts" in their field on the site to provide those wanting to break into the industry with a good support network, no commitment, so if you'd be interested please volenteer! :)
Hope some find the site useful!
Thanks for your time!
lemmy
PS: On another note, any content you would be willing to share that may help people, tutorials, step-by-steps, articles or code would be greatly appreciated! feel free to link to your sites, we're looking to get as much useful content to help newcomers as possible. Thanks again!
