new operator and align

Hi! I want to write my own mathematical library (supporting SSE). I want to use 16 bytes aligned data too, but I've read somewhere on Web, that I must use the aligned_malloc function (or somithing like this). This is the only way? I'd like to use the new operator. What to do now? How can I oveload it (globally, to use it in a big project), and with what? Thanks & bye!
