Could anyone tell me if the GLU NURBS implementation is hardware accelerated, or is it purely software? If I were to code a fairly optimized C/C++ implementation of a simple 2D NURBS spline evaluator, how would it stand up against the GLU NURBS in terms of performance? Probably a bit of a newb question, but thanks for any help :)

GLU isn't part of OpenGL proper. Everything in GLU is just helpers that call OpenGL functions. So no, there's no hardware involved.

As for how well the GLU NURBS code is written, I have no idea.

Thanks, that was the answer I was looking for. Now I just gotta get my head around the NURBS maths. Oh well, a good headache never did anyone any harm right? :)

Cheers
