This is pretty much a noobish question, but it seems I couldn't find the answer. I am using Visual Web Developer 2005 to develop ASP.NET 2.0 web application. I have database tables already configured with sample data. I also have an AccessDataSource (which inherits from SqlDataSource) already configured. Additionally, I can view and modify table contents through the GridView. I also have a DropDownList connected to the AccessDataSource. As you can see, I am pretty much done with the absolute basics. But I am stuck at programmatically modifying the database. Consider a simple table that has two fields: 1- EmployeeID 2- EmployeeName I want to have a button when clicked, it gets a list of all EmployeeID's, iterates through that list and upper cases the EmployeeName, such that: Table.EmployeeName = Table.EmployeeName.ToUpper() How could such a simple task be done programmatically?! [Preferably using VB code] I read through MSDN, and they claim that "parameters" could be used to achieve this... But I couldn't access those parameters they talk about... Any Ideas?! Also how can I execute an explicit SQL statement using code. [Edited by - zaidgs on May 16, 2007 3:06:05 AM]
