Blender MD2 Texture Problem

Hey just been working on creating some models in .md2 format and having a bit of problem with the export. I'm able to create my models in md2 format with the python exporter that came with blender but the texture isnt working ok when I load the md2 model. It loads the texture but doesnt apply it correctly. Ive done UV mapping and it looks ok in blender when i render it but it applies the texture randomly when I load it. And i know the code is fine for loading it because it textures properly for a sample model I downloaded. Is there something im forgetting to do in blender?? Any advice would be very helpful.
