What is the best tool to create 2D vector models. We need to load them to vertex buffers in DX. Till now, I've been pointed at Inkscape in order to create SVG files, but are there any kits to load the vertices into memory (I'd much rather work from memory to vbuffers than with XML files). And if not, are there any other total alternatives (we don't care about the file format or anything since we don't have a model base yet, we're completely free). To the moderators: plz move to the forum best fit for us to get help.

I know Anti-Grain Geometry has a very basic SVG loader as one of its demo tests; you could look at that. Failing a specialised SVG loader you could always use an XML reader (like TinyXML, for example) and parse the SVG yourself. I currently use TinyXML to read the position of sprites in my SVG sprite sheets.

What SVG editor do you use while we're still at it... Looking into AGG, good stuff

@Trapper Zoid, missed your signature, guess you use Inkscape :)
