I want to create a splash screen during the load. I create a window using the WNDCLASSEX and RegisterClassEx and CreateWindow functions. How can I add an image to the background of that window to show as a splash screen? I am using static multi threaded lib and native win32, no .net, no mfc, no atl. Is it possible? Thanks.

typically one uses a modal dialog for splash screens. you can embed a picture control into a dialog fairly easy using dialog resources.
