How do I enable bilinear filtering in OpenGL? Is it enabled by default? What I'm trying to do is render a large scene to a small texture and then stretch it back over the entire scene again... (eg. a simple bloom effect)

IIRC but GL_LINEAR will give you bilinear filtering. GL_LINEAR_MIPMAP_LINEAR should be trilinear.

Things get really weird when you do non-conventional modes like GL_LINEAR_MIPMAP_NEAREST or GL_NEAREST_MIPMAP_LINEAR. [grin]
