XNA Content Processor Question

Recommended Posts

I've got a custom content processor running. It takes my custom model file, processes it for the engine and saves it out to a .xnb file. I know there has to be a way to override writing to the .xnb format but I'm not sure how. In the ContentWriter object I wrote the input doesn't seem to have access to the file name, as if this is stores somewhere higher in the chain of events. Basically I'd like the option of doing something like storing each object into some kind of pac file so my reader would have to look for something like terrain.pac and then based on the terrain name I gave would decompress the pac then seek to the proper area and load. I'm not sure how to accomplish this with the XNA content processor, though I know it should be possible. Thanks in advance, Webby

Highlight the resource in the Solution Explorer and set the Build property to None and the XNA Framework Content property to False.
