AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
BRAIN OVERLOAD!!!
I am so confused by this section.I feel like such a dunce because it seems everyone else is getting it right off the bat.First of all why would you do this??I mean denoting the color of a pixel ,pixel by pixel seems to be very tedious.

Hey - great tutorial teej... I think Im finally starting to understand stuff.
Just one query - is there any particular reason for the extra bit being given to green in 16bit color mode? (as opposed to red or blue I mean)... just seems a bit random.
thanx.
The reason that the extra bit is given to green is because human eyes are more sensitive to the green wavelengths in the color spectrum than red and blue wavelengths. Therefore it makes sense to add more variation to the color that we will notice the most.

Ok, so if you wanted to mix the color of two pixels for translucency, you would just add them and right shift 1 bit right?
