Measuring performance of a DirectX application

Hi I have an application which I would to test for things like max and average frames per second, memory use and such things. How would I go about doing that?

Have you tried PIX? It is bundled with the DX SDK.

The program allows you to view how much time drawing calls took in the hardware, and a lot more.
