help for some advices in 'scene management' or so

can someone give me some resources or just show me some links about scene-management, rendering management,…… survey about these fields will be appreciated. main thing: I want to know something of the developing status about scene-management or rendering management, even management of large-scale scenes and so on, then I can make myself a little useful to do some so-called researches. I found nothing useful by Google search, or am I too stupid to use Google to find something I want? :) whoever give some advices will be appreciated for your helpness or attention

Well in my 'engine' I have a scene manager that takes some game data (e.g. camera position, the game world), and:

1) Collates scene data into a distance-sorted 'relevant object list' of game entities near the camera.
2) uses this list for various purposes: rendering, LOD, noise emission, radar display etc.
3) Creates a 'render context' that is passed to entities to be drawn.
4) does extra processing like camera shake/interference, requests ambient noise generation etc.

It contains some knowledge about the game world to speed up the rendering and searching.
