.x animated model issues

I've implemented Jason Jaruka's approach to loading and viewing a .x model with animations. Everything seemed to be working fine until i tried to load a new model given to me by one of my artists... when i view this model in the DirectX model viewer (mview) it shows up fine, but when i load it with my own code, the model appears to be rotated with respect to the skeleton. I wasn't quite sure what to do, so i downloaded another model viewer off of the web, and to my surprise the model was rotated improperly in the new viewer as well...its seems to only work with the microsoft viewer :| has anyone seen this before ? i'm not sure how i can give you guys the model in question, just leave me a msg and i'll email it to you if you'd like to take a look..
