Hi I am doing some performance analyzing with PIX and was wondering how average FPS is collected. I have run an experiment with resource usage gathering and this gives me FPS per frame, but can I get an average? The application is most of the time doing 140 FPS, but sometimes peaking to 1000-1500 FPS and down to 33 FPS, so is it save to use the stable value of 140 as a measure? Regards

I wouldn't use PIX to determine your average framerate. PIX adds a lot of overhead to the application it is hooking. Use FRAPS and just get a rough idea based on the number drawn to your window.
