Hi guys, I have a perpendicular triangle and I know the following values: - length of hypotenuse - length of the 2nd edge Is it possible to calculate the length of the 3rd edge from this? is this where pythag comes into play?

If "perpendicular triangle" == "Right triangle" (aka. one right angle and two acute angles) then yes this is where the Pythagorean Theorem comes into play.
In your case you will need to rearrange the equation in order to make it work.
