Loading meshes

I loaded a few meshes into a DirectX program, and it started to lag. The meshes weren't very complex, and I know that it is not a problem related to my graphics driver because I have played many high level games on it. Is there a reason that this could be happening?

Are you loading the meshes every frame? How complex is "weren't very complex"?

You should really show some code when asking a question like this, cause it could be anything and you haven't provided enough information.

I loaded a very simply landscape, a tree, and a human onto the screen from .X filed. Yes, I did render them every frame. I used D3DXLoadMeshFromX to load the meshes. What kind of code would be necessary to tell what my problem is?
