PHPFreaks (google them) has a wonderful network for all things web developement (including a real active board where you can ask any kind of question you could think of).

I personally suggest using a single introduction book and php.net in conjunction with each other. You should be able to zip through the basic structure and content of PHP. From there you can google more specific tutorials and still be able to keep up with the actual coding.
