PIX crash in shader debugging
Hi
I'm using PIX for shader debugging nowadays for my App.
Everything works fine except pixel shader debug function.
When I click "Debug Pixel(x,y)" PIX crashed.
Debugging vertex shader and all other fuction is no problem.
And I have no idea what is wrong. And also other application
,for example, DX sample works fine.
I don't know how to post a picture in here So I just write
what I got captured when it was crashed.
"Unhandled exception ast 0x010f2ea5 in PIXWin.exe : 0xC0000005 :
Access violation reading loaction 0x00000000."
As you see, because pix.exe try to read Null pointer it happen I think
but why?
At first, I thought It could be texture problem because it happened
only in pixel shader debugging.
So I deleted some texture-related code in my app but same result.
So it was not...
this is my shader code...
And I think shader code is fine because below code is the simplest...^^
float4 Default_PS( VS_OUTPUT In ) : COLOR
{
return 0.5f;
}
technique Default_Tech
{
pass P0
{
VertexShader = compile vs_2_0 Default_VS();
PixelShader = compile ps_2_0 Default_PS();
}
}
Can anyone give me some clue?
Please help me. ^^;
Try to send as much information as you can to: directx@microsoft.com
This includes a stack trace of where it crashed, and preferably all information you can get pix to save. If they need more information they'll contact you asking for it, in which case they may want you to send the project that's causing the failure.
