I'm learning DX9 animation examples. Now, I found a tiny.x file which is Microsoft example mesh file, a female model, walking in screen. Can I edit this file to make her runing. If can, How do it.

Yes.

In theory.

In practice, no.

.X files come in a variety of flavors, including ASCII formats that are human readable (via text editors) and consequently, human-editable too. The animation data will be represented as a series of rotations and translations to specific joints (themselves defined in a hierarchical structure), however -- not a representation you're going to be able to easily tweak.

But, that's okay, because many modelling programming such as Milkshape and Blender can load, display, edit and save .X files. So if you really want to edit the file, grab one of those programs and learn it.
Hi;

There are several programs to do this, like 3D Max, Poser, Blender and Anim8or, take a look here:

Blender

Anim8or

Then search for a tutorial and info, google it. Here is a good link:

3D Models with .x files

Is not easy and sometimes you'll need third party programs to convert from a format to another.

Good luck.
