Forgive me if its the wrong forum but its more server related than java. Heyas! I have a java webstart application that is run from within a secure website. Basically the user opens the website, enters username and password and then, if he wants or needs to, clicks on a link that launches my java application via webstart. Web Start will try and download the jar files for the application BUT because the jar files are within the secure server it only downloads a HTML page asking for the user to login (renaming it to the jar file name and then reporting that the jar downloaded was corrupted because it couldnt interprete it). Does anyone know of a way of allowing for the file to be downloaded correctly? I was hoping of something like passing the session id from PHP or ASP to the url that downloads the files. I did try asking for session id and saving it on the url as a query parameter (?sessionid=[whatever]) but it didnt work. I would appreciate any kind of input. (moderator: if you feel like this belongs in the java forum feel free to move it). Yours Truly K
