Quake 4 editor issue

Hi, Although I've used UT 2004 editor to make levels and 3DS Max to build static meshes, etc, I'm a total newbie to the Quake 4 editor. I'm wanting to build a level which incorporates Relief mapping. However, I'm having trouble getting started. When I drag a box in the top view, in the camera view the texture partially disappears and is all fuzzy and broken up, similar to that of having another texture underneath and there is some z-fighting going on. Obviously there can't be as there is only one mesh there. If I press a button like BSP, for instance, it all comes back, until I move the camera again. Is it a graphics card issue? I only have a Geforce 6200 256mb, with 2 gb of RAM. Has anyone else had this problem?
