MFC Dialog initalize into a control

There's one here at Gamedev (http://www.gamedev.net/reference/articles/article1778.asp) which overcomplicates things a bit, since it's using a CView-based approach.

It's quite simple actually. You just provide the HWND of the control to DirectX and any drawing (WM_DRAWITEM or WM_PAINT, whichever process you choose) calls the render function.

If you can get hold of older DirectX SDKs there is a sample called MFC-Texture, which used Direct3d in a small control on a dialog.
