Hi all, Im trying to make my edit box have a glow around it with out the use of a texture. Im using the fix function pipe line D3D9c but with the old sprite class(don't aks why, don't know my self just happened) could I use a material or some thing like that. I have a image of 2 edit boxes one with the glow I want. http://users.tpg.com.au/dshepp33//DevPost.htm

In my opinion the answer to your question is no.

A glow effect is usually performed using a post processor. You can google for post processor and it should give you a bundle of info links.

In order to create a glow effect you must either save the glow as a texture then just quad it to screen or use a pixel shader to create the effect.
